GRANVILLE, Australia – Robbie Farr halted American Brad Sweet’s win streak at two during Monday’s round of Ultimate Sydney Speedweek at Valvoline Raceway.
Farr led from wire to wire in the 35-lap New South Wales Sprint Car Championship main event, taking his No. NQ7 sprinter to victory by .781 seconds over Jamie Veal.
In fact, it was a clean sweep of the night for Farr, who set fast time, won his heat race and topped the pole shuffle before his picture-perfect performance in the feature.
While Veal, Sweet and two-time All Stars Circuit of Champions titlist Aaron Reutzel all had shots to go after Farr for the race lead, Farr’s toughest – and easily most surprising – challenge came from Jackson Delamont, who used the outside to storm past his foes.
Delamont came from 10th and had a chance to try and run down Farr before fading late.
Sweet finished third, remaining on the podium for the third-straight race, with Delamont and Reutzel following.
Marcus Dumesny, Lynton Jeffrey, Ryan Jones, Michael Saller and Danny Reidy completed the top 10.
World of Outlaws standout Ian Madsen finished a disappointing 21st, retiring at halfway.
Ultimate Sydney Speedweek continues on Jan. 1 at Valvoline Raceway.
